Floral prints is a HOT trend for this Summer. I guess it first starts from the D&G‘s show in the beginning of 2011.
In no time, floral clothes become most popular pieces in every shop. No matter for personal studios, or brand stores.
Colorful floral clothes catch public attention easily through store windows. I am not a good window shopper, instead, I would like to spend maybe even a whole day on picking one piece of cloth really suits me. Every time before going to shopping, I have to check my closet firstly, forming a image of my idea fashion piece in my head, then looking for a similar on in the shop. Then if I met something that really attracts me but not in my head-list, I have to recall what in my closet then make the final decision.
Yes, shopping is not easier than every day working. We have to use our brain to shopping not eyes. There are a lot of girls following new fashion trend every season, they believe that make them fashionable and shining. However, following fashion trend doesn’t mean when you try them on, you will be beautiful. Like floral pieces.
I read from the latest Glamour that FLORAL COULD BE EDGE, although it offers some inspired way to wear floral, I still think it first depends on the race of people. I know this sounds lame, but Floral suits white people more.
There are different kinds of floral clothes with different color and prints. Literally, every one can wear them whilst white people look good on any kind. Some asian people have bright skin can give a brave try on but they have to avoid dark color. Otherwise the whole appearance gonna be dark and old-aged looking. The Chinese movie star Su Qi sets a good example here:
her floral dress is with a background of white, which could lighten up her whole look.
Nevertheless, for other asian with yellow/chocolate skin, floral outfit is not a good idea. It could be put on but won’t make you outstanding. I am a typical asian with dark skin, I have tried all floral dresses in some shops, but eventually I picked ones without flowers. Firstly I thought it might be my own problems, then I discovered that there is even hardly dark asian models with floral dress on.
For black people, I think it is better to keep the floral prints low profile. Colors which conflicts skin color should be avoided. Ciara’s example is good:
Red and pink color here seems very outstanding, the most important point for she to look good is because the prints is with a dark background, which suits her dark skin and reduce the conflict of red color. Actually, red always looks good on black people, but it depends on what kind of red it is !
Well. Floral clothes could be risk. You need to looks at yourself in front of the mirror and imagine if you could be the outstanding one in the crowd. Don’t follow the trend blindly but pick what really suit you. I didn’t buy any floral clothes this summer yet, but my bright new coral shirt still makes me noticeable.
Oh, by the way, it would also happen that young girls wearing floral everywhere in the street, and you will be hided…;)
